    • Pope Francis usurped the throne, so to speak. Every pope remains the rightful Pope until passing from this life. Pope Benedict was forced to resign, (never happens, but did), by nefarious interests. Succession procedures were not followed. Francis will never be recognised by traditional Catholics as a true Pope. He is an Interloper. Notice he has not been given a numeral after his name.

      • There was never a pope named Francis. Peter is not designated by a number either.
What are you suggesting re nefarious?

  1. I had the chance with my parents and sister to visit the Vatican in the summer of 1969. I recall seeing a panel on the side of one of the piers along the right hand side of the nave (looking to the high altar) that did not look like the one shown above. It wasn’t in an aedicule frame like this one but seemed taller and narrower. It was mounted on the thin side of one of the piers. Not the big piers carrying the dome but one of those supporting the nave vault. What struck me at the time were the little black Greek crosses after the name of each sainted Pope. They seemed to almost stop after Constantine’s recognition of Christianity and were a lot less frequent. The list above seems to show many more for hundreds of years after. .

The chair of peter has been vacant since the death of Pope Pius XII. All the others on this list after him are antipopes.
