According to the laws of nature, when a person dies, the body decays, becoming corrupt and withering away.
.
But there are saints in the Catholic Tradition whose bodies have defied all laws of science and have been preserved in ways which do not concur with the natural law.
.
Science is as yet unable to explain them.
.
There are dozens, if not hundreds of Saints considered to be Incorrupt. This video shows just a few.

  1. I am simply astounded and utterly amazed. I was aware of St. Bernadette, but I had no idea of the others. I am a Catholic convert (4 years) and I love learning about the Church and the wonderful servants of God who have helped to perpetuate it. I am inspired by the simple obedience of these saints to God’s call and His awesome evidence of grace. All glory and honor and power are His, now and forever! Amen.

  2. Absolutely astounding evidence God leaves for us to understand just how much He loves us. Still for some it will not be enough; prayers ascending for those who still need more to believe. Thank you Lord for these beautiful people whom you have given us as examples of your great love!

  3. Thank you for sharing – this is a great testimony to the fruits of living one’s life in perfect obedience to God’s will.
Also, thank you for creating the Catholic Church facebook account- it is a very good way of using this new media as a platform to espouse and strengthen our Christian faith which has been so much challenged by bad media publicity lately. May God’s love be with us all !

  4. Thank you for publishing this. I was aware of St. Bernadette and many other older saints whose bodies are incorruptible, but not the others you featured; I was very surprised to find Padre Pio amongst them.

This information helps very much to reinforce my faith, underlines the holiness of these people and provides encouragement to follow in their steps as much as possible.

Thank you also for putting all you do on Facebook! I am now a semi-invalid and often cannot make it to church. This provides an avenue for me to stay in touch with what is happening with the Church; I have also learned so much about the saints, different aspects of our beliefs, that I never knew.

  6. God is so Good to hv all this happen…. but still many do not belive……..All Saints pray for the world and see and cannot understand.

    • I know most of these are truly incorruptibles but there is one that is in error. St. Padre Pio is not considered an incorruptible because of the classic modern form of preservation used when he was burried. So they don’t allow him to be considered incorruptible his body and skin look heavenly and too good for any means of preservation we have today.

  7. Wow… I am totally blown away! I attended 16 years of Catholic schools and am grateful to Our Lord for His Gifts and presence in my life! I have always loved learning about the lives of the Saints, and this is wonderful. Thank you for all you do.

  8. In reading about the Incorruptibles, some time ago, it read that if they were to ‘dig up graves of Religious throughout Europe they’d find several hundred more incorruptibles.’ . . . His holy ones that served Him.

Blessed are you, Lord, You did not allow Your holy ones to see corruption.

  9. Thank you lord for this examples of people who have passed through this world n have faced exactly what we are facing yet lived herioc lives and earned themselves a crown of glory….it leaves a testimony that God is ever present to us especially in the little details of our every day life…once again i am encouraged and i want to pick up the pieces i have left behind and to move on stronger…lord help my resolve, mother intercede for me..Amen

  10. Can anyone please refer me to some actual scientific studies done on Incorruptible Saints? I am curious to see exactly how “Science is as yet unable to explain them.” Thank you and God bless.

  11. “The Incorruptibles” by Joan Carroll Cruz gives information on 102 incorruptible Saints. It is a fascinating book that I have used as a tookl in teaching High School religious ed for many years (really gets their attention). It is published through Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford, IL. I promise you will not be disappointed!
I am positive that when it is time the body of Pope John Paul II will also be incorrupt.

  12. Whenever I start to have doubts about my faith, all I have to do is look at evidence like this that the Lord has given us.
Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

    • you are right!! sometimes, when things go wrong in my life i’ll start wondering about what i believe (faith) or what people from other religion believe. But, God has always been in my life , my history and my present. And that, made me think, if i’m still here believing the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit, it’s because that God has love me first 🙂 thanks be to God

  13. Thanks for posting the video.

There is a terrific book by Joan Carroll Cruz called the “The Incorruptibles: A Study of the Incorruption of the Bodies of Various Catholic Saints and Beati”. It is a wonderful book and an easy read. Each chapter is about a saint and the miraculous history behind their incorruptible bodies.

I would highly recommend any of Ms. Carroll’s books, especially “Eucharistic Miracles” about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Her books are so awe inspiring, documenting these miracles and leaving the reader filled with the presence of God. Again, each chapter is a separate account a Eucharistic miracle, but once you start reading you won’t want to put it down.

  14. Some were found partially decomposed or not at all but later decomposed, after being exposed to air and washed, etc.. St. Bernadette, for example, has a wax mask for her face and hands.

  15. Hello guys … this could not be more timely. I was in Rome some days back where I went to the convent started by St. Raphaela Maria and her body still lies there and has remained pure and has never decayed since 1925 when she died. It looks as if she is sleeping. I would put up the pictures I took live about it…. This is no joke…It’s like she’s been sleeping since 1925…I was simply astounded and speechless as a Medical doctor.

  16. Science vs. Faith

Science pretends to decipher the secret of Genesis with such complicated & unfathomable theories as “The Big Bang” or the “Darwinism” or…; when it is still incapable of giving the slightest explanation on those wonders done until today in The Name of Jesus-Christ; wonders that the faithful call “Miracles” but that medicine, when it is concerned, call “inexplicable healings” for the sake of scientific rigor.

As long as science cannot scientifically explain these extraordinary phenomena and find a solution to all sorts of “Evil” spreading among humans and to the unavoidable terrible Death, then it’s my obligation, my right and my duty to assert Loud & clear that Jesus-Christ is the mightiest and that there is no other salvation but through Him; in this mean ephemeral world and The other Eternal One!!!

  17. The beauty of the catholic church.truths like this strenghten my resolve to remain cotholic no matter the circumstances of life.

  18. Saint Bernadette, pray for me, a sinner.
    Thank you, God,
    Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ,
    and
    Thank you, Blessed Virgin Mary,
    for Saint Bernadette!

  19. My faith has been tested this past week, I do believe this. Many people who do not believe or recognize that God is real and the holy church is real have tested my faith. Please Lord give them a sign so they start to believe.

Blessed are you most high and thank you for answering my prayers.

  20. I do find the images fascinating. But I do wonder how many of them have been enhanced with wax, as a previous comment mentioned? I am sorry to be such a doubter but there have been so many things that have been pulling me away from my Catholic faith. I want to believe this is true.

    • Believing what God has done with incorruptibles is not dogma and should not shatter your faith. They are sign for believers. I recommend you go back to the faith of the fathers, read the Catechism and start from there. Watching much of what the solid EWTN has to offer can help.

    • Ruth, there’s a saying dat goes like this ‘when u want to kill a dog, u give it a bad name’. You’ll always find something wrong with the church especially if you want to leave. Some of the saints had some parts of their bodies decayed and those were the ones that were enhanced. But u cant explain the smell of flowers, i dont think we’ve made air freshners dat can withstand the stench of decaying bodies for so long.
I was born and raised a catholic but i started having doubts about my faith and as a result I missed mass for 6yrs. I think i understand you a bit. All i can say is this, ask Our Lady for clarity. I know that this might be one of your stumbling blocks but give it one last push. She means well and is always there to pray for us and to lead us to Christ. She did it for me and She will do it for you if u ask. Our Lady’s ears are always open to the pleas of Her children. Make Her your ‘go to’, She is a powerful intercessor.

  21. Dear Lord, all glory is yours forever and ever. I bow before you and thank you for today and all that you have blessed me with. Thank you for providing for us. Thank you for keeping the evil one away from us. Please Lord, if it is your will, heal my friends who are sick and have little faith. I ask intersession from our blessed mother Mary and from all of the saints in heaven. Please Lord help me to know your will for me and lead me where you want me to go. I want only what you want and I will do anything and everything for you. I love you Lord God with all of my heart and soul. Protect me and never leave me. I will be still and know that you are God,
