One day while tending her flock, Bernard a son of the Count of Poitiers, approached her and made advances at her. She resisted and this infuriated Bernard. Solange struggled when he tried to set her on his horse and was seriously injured when she fell off the horse. Possessed by a demonic fury, Bernard thrust his sword into her killing her on the spot.
