Now you can pray with Pope Francis on the “Click to Pray” app, after the Holy Father announced he created his profile on the Vatican’s official prayer app.
Pope Francis created his profile on the Vatican’s official “Click to Pray” app, the digital platform for the pontiff’s Worldwide Prayer Network.
The app has three sections, one of which which includes Pope Francis’ monthly prayer intentions on the challenges facing humanity and the mission of the Church. The app gives you three daily prayers, and allows users to share their prayers with others.
Click to Pray is the official app for World Youth Day 2019, taking place in Panama from January 22nd to the 27th. Pope Francis profile on the app shows his prayer intention:
“During the World Youth Day, let us pray with Mary the Rosary for Peace.”
In his Angelus, Pope Francis commented on the nature of the internet and social media, saying they
“are a resource for our time; they are an occasion to be in contact with others, to share values and projects, and to express the desire to make a community. The internet can also help us to pray together.”
In the past, Pope Francis has called social media a “gift from God” that can “help us to be better citizens,”
“Communication, wherever and however it takes place, has opened up broader horizons for many people. This is a gift of God which involves a great responsibility. I like to refer to this power of communication as ‘closeness.'”
