Lazarus is dead. Mary is weeping. The disciples are doubting. People are wailing. In the midst of this great chaos, Jesus enters into deep union with His Father—the Father hears Him, the Father never lets Him down. Lazarus, come out! He is alive!

Notice how weak, how little is the faith of those who surround Jesus at Bethany—maybe our faith is like this too, yet Jesus’ patience is incredible. Jesus thirsts for our faith to be fully alive! He loves us just as much as He loved His friend Lazarus, and He is willing raise us to new life too.

Jesus says it is for God’s glory that Lazarus dies, to manifest the Father’s power, the Father’s UNCONDITIONAL LOVE through Jesus. This miracle points to the reality of Who Jesus is and ushers Him into His definitive act of love: death on the Cross.

All of our readings today point to the same idea: trust. Do I really trust Jesus enough to let Him into my life? Do I really trust the Father’s promise, that we are His beloved sons and daughters? Do I really live like I am God’s Temple?

If we truly believe that Jesus is Lord, then we have to change. We have to break free, literally rise from the tombs of sin we’ve been hiding in. Do you want real freedom? Then let go, open your hands and let go—and with that empty hand, reach out to hold on to the Pierced Hand.

Trust.

Listen.

He is speaking a message of freedom to you—the freedom you’ve always desired. He is asking you to walk with Him … Say yes!

Challenge: Ask Jesus to shine His light into a part of your heart you’ve been afraid to let Him into.

It is very inspiring especially in today’s world, where it is difficult to find some time to reflect on our inner selves.

God bless you Sr Alicia and Thank you for today’s reflection.
