468 After the Council of Chalcedon, some made of Christ’s human nature a kind of personal subject. Against them, the fifth ecumenical council, at Constantinople in 553, confessed that “there is but one hypostasis [or person], which is our Lord Jesus Christ, one of the Trinity.”Thus everything in Christ’s human nature is to be attributed to his divine person as its proper subject, not only his miracles but also his sufferings and even his death: “He who was crucified in the flesh, our Lord Jesus Christ, is true God, Lord of glory, and one of the Holy Trinity.”

  1. Jesus was indeed both God and man when He walked on this earth. And according to Hebrews 13- Heis “the same, yesterday, today and forever.” Phil.2:6-8 tells us that He emptied Himself when He took on “flesh” (the KENOSIS in the Greek) of His DIVINE attributes—therefore He did everything while in the flesh, as a MAN. He tells us throughout ALL of the gospels, that He only did His Father’s will, and that the miracles He performed were wrought by the Holy Spirit working in and through Him. This is why He could commission all of us to; “Preach the word, cast out demons, heal the sick, in MY NAME,” etc.,. because it’s not by our might but by the Holy Spirit’s that lives are saved, healed and delivered–both spiritually, mentally and physically. It’s why He tells us in His word that not only will we do the things that He did, but even greater things—and the same way that He did them—as a Spirit-filled MAN who was obedient and sensitive to the voice of The Father. The apostles and many of Christs disciples fulfilled this commission, especially after the “upper room” experience in the book of Acts, when they received the “infilling” of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. This is still available to ALL BELIEVERS and as prophesied in Joel is especially happening in these “last days” before His return. IF HE had not done everything that He did as a MAN, there would have been no need for Him to have had “The Kenosis Experience” written in the book of Philippians and Hebrews chapter 2 would not have been written. Can anyone truly and completely understand hoe this is possible? Not any more than we can truly understand or explain how the Three are One. John 1:1–“IN the beginning was the WORD.and the WORD with God, and the WORD was God.” :14-“And the WORD was made flesh and lived among us.” Both human and Divine. Who can completely comprehend that??!!?? dionne
