  1. Dear Father, Thank you for your work! I agree that American tend to be poorly chaticized. Today, I disagree with a part of your analysis. I believe there is a large difference between religious drifting, and choosing individual teachings a la cart from different traditions. I understand the criticism of choosing to follow or discard individual tenets because they suit the ego of the individual. Religious drifting, however, is seeking God. Each biblical example you cite is an example of a person deserting one way of life to answer God’s call. Is that also not drifting in a way? Luckily they were correct, and we do not always choose correctly. I was a religious drifter for a number of years until I found a forever home in the Catholic Church. I feel it was right to do that. I believe others are simply still on that journey. I am reminded of a quote, that I am sorry to say I do not know who the author is…..”God loves two men. The one who serves Him, because he knows and loves Him, and one who seeks Him, because he knows Him not.”
