V. Ecce ancilla Domini,
R. Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.

Ave Maria, gratia plena; Dominus tecum:
benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui Iesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

V. Et Verbum caro factum est,
R. Et habitavit in nobis.

Ave Maria, gratia plena; Dominus tecum:
benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui Iesus.

V. Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genetrix,
R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

Oremus.
Gratiam tuam, quaesumus, Domine, mentibus nostris infunde;
ut qui, Angelo nuntiante, Christi Filii tui incarnationem cognovimus,
per passionem eius et crucem
ad resurrectionis gloriam perducamur.
Per eumdem Christum Dominum nostrum.

R. Amen.

ANGELUS (English)

V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with Thee:
blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, prayer for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
R. Be it done to me according to Thy word.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with Thee:
blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, prayer for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

V. And the Word was made flesh,
R. And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with Thee:
blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, prayer for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, Lord, Thy grace into our hearts;
that, as we have known the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son,
by the message of an angel, so by His Passion and Cross
we may be brought to the glory of the Resurrection.
Through the same Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

  1. We used to pray the angelous every 6 am, 12 pm and 6 pm everyday for the 4yrs I lernt at Monte Cassino Girls High in Zimbabwe.

  2. What a beautiful way to start on the internet, OR any way, time of the day, and always of course, when you just happen to need it the most. Mary and our guardians, are always there, but, we/I forget to remember that and once again, what a beautiful reminder. You Tube has a GOOD purpose and has showed me that a thousand million times over today. ucatholic has been the best page I have been linked to in FB and will continue to pass it on to whomever will take advantage of all it has to offer!!! Sincerely and with my gratitude to ucatholic for posting this right when I needed it. NJHarrison

  3. The choice of sacred art visuals, the rendition, clarity & finesse: HOW SUBLIME worthy of the ANGELUS prayer! Thank you for sharing & inspiring, uplifts the soul, God bless!

  4. It is good to hear it again. When I was in school as a young girl, we prayed it every day at noon. The church bells would go off, everyone would get silent (it was our lunch time as well) and we prayed. It is so beautiful. I grew up w/the Latin Mass, nice to hear things again.

  5. This is awesome and beautiful. It is good for our souls & spirits for the children of GOD through Mama Mary. Thanks & God bless us all!
